This Bruins goalie is continuing to make a positive impact for the club.

The Boston Bruins defeated the Buffalo Sabres by a 3-1 final score on Dec. 21. With this win, they now have an 18-13-4 record and are currently third in the Atlantic Division standings.

Joonas Korpisalo was a significant reason for the Bruins' win. He stopped 19 out of 20 shots, which equates to an excellent .950 save percentage. The Bruins did not necessarily make his night easy, either, as they had just 18 shots on goal against Buffalo.

This was an excellent bounce-back game from the 30-year-old netminder. In his previous start against the Seattle Kraken, he allowed four goals on 16 shots in a loss.

However, rough performances from Korpisalo have become rare. Before losing to the Kraken, he had a 5-0-1 record and two shutouts in his six previous appearances. In addition, he had a .903 save percentage or better in five out of those six starts.

After his great night against the Sabres, Korpisalo now has a 7-3-1 record, a .904 save percentage, and a 2.42 goals-against average for the season. With numbers like these, he is proving to be a great backup for the Bruins. It will be fascinating to see if he can keep this play up from here, but he is not showing many signs of slowing down.
