At the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, the Boston Bruins selected Dean Letourneau in the first round with the 25th overall pick. They received this first-round pick in the trade that sent star goalie Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators.

Letourneau had spent the 2023-24 season with St. Andrew's College before being drafted, where he posted 61 goals, 66 assists, 127 points, and 74 penalty minutes in 56 regular-season games. With numbers like these, the 6-foot-7 center demonstrated his offensive upside and looked to translate it over to the NCAA level with Boston College in 2024-25.

However, Letourneau's struggled to produce offensively during his first season at Boston College, as he did not score a goal and recorded three assists in 36 games. Naturally, it can take young players time to adjust to the collegiate level, so it is understandable that Letourneau had some rough patches during his freshman year. Yet, now that he is entering year No. 2 with Boston College, it would not be too surprising if we see his offensive game improve.

Letourneau displayed during his time at prep school that he has plenty of offensive talent, and his goal from here will be to show that off with Boston College. He is one of the Bruins' most important forward prospects, so they will be hoping that he can break through with BC. If he does, it will create more optimism about his future with the Bruins.

Nevertheless, it is going to be very fascinating to see what kind of year Letourneau can put together in 2025-26 with BC. There is no question that he has a lot to prove.
