The Boston Bruins traded away several of their former core players at the 2025 NHL trade deadline. Due to this, they landed some new players from those deals, including forward Casey Mittelstadt.

After being acquired by the Bruins from the Colorado Avalanche in the Charlie Coyle trade, Mittelstadt struggled to find his fit with the Original Six club. In 18 games with the Bruins following the move, Mittelstadt posted four goals, two assists, and a notable minus-17 rating. Overall, he had a tough start to his Bruins tenure.

Yet, when looking at Mittelstadt's previous success, the possibility of him bouncing back with the Bruins next season is there. Just back in 2023-24, he posted 18 goals and 57 points in 80 games split between the Buffalo Sabres and Avalanche. He also recorded 15 goals and a career-high 59 points in 82 games with the Sabres in 2022-23, so he has the ability to be a solid point producer when he is playing at his best.

With the Bruins needing more offense, it would be significant for them if Mittelstadt rebounds next season for them. The potential for him to be an impactful part of their top six is there, and it will be fascinating to see if the 26-year-old can have a strong season for the Bruins in 2025-26 from here.
