While the Bruins secured a point against the Senators, it featured an ugly new low for the team.

The Boston Bruins lost to Linus Ullmark and the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night in overtime by a final score of 3-2. While the Bruins managed to secure a point in this contest, they did not have a good performance.  

During the third period of the matchup, the Bruins failed to record a single shot on goal. This is just another example of how much they are struggling offensively early on in this campaign, but this is a new low for the Original Six club. 

According to Kevin Paul Dupont, the last time the Bruins had zero shots in the third period was on Dec. 21, 2006 against the Vancouver Canucks. That team finished with a 35-41-6 record. 

The Bruins' offense was already pretty quiet for the most during this contest, too, as they had just 15 shots in the first two periods. Pavel Zacha and Brad Marchand did, however, score 15 seconds apart from each other during the second period.  

The Bruins desperately need to improve their offensive struggles if they hope to turn around their poor start to the season.
