Bruins head coach Marco Sturm has provided an update on James Hagens.

Boston Bruins top prospect recently joined the NHL club after signing his entry-level contract earlier this week. Bruins fans are naturally excited to see Hagens get into action, as he is their top prospect.

However, Bruins fans will need to wait a bit longer to see Hagens make his debut for the Black and Gold. While speaking to reporters, including 98.5 The Sports Hub's Ty Anderson, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm shared that Hagens will not be in the lineup for their upcoming matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Sturm also noted that Hagens needs some time to get used to the Bruins' system before getting into game action.

With this news, Bruins fans will need to wait to see Hagens get into his first game action with Boston. Following their matchup against the Bolts, the Bruins will finish the season with games against the Columbus Blue Jackets and New Jersey Devils. It would not be surprising if Hagens gets into at least one of those games.

In six games this season with the Providence Bruins on his amateur tryout, Hagens had one goal and four points. This is after he had 23 goals and 47 points in 34 games for Boston College this campaign.
