If the Bruins hope to win Game 4, they will need their top players to bounce back.
The Boston Bruins fell to the Buffalo Sabres by a 3-1 final score in Game 3. With this, the Bruins now trail the series 2-1 and are facing a must-win Game 4.
This loss was certainly a tough one for the Bruins, but now all they can do is try to regroup in Game 4. If the Bruins want to have any chance of picking up a victory in Game 4, they will need their top forwards to show up after a quiet Game 3.
The entirety of the Bruins' top six was held off the scoresheet in Game 3, as Sabres goalie Alex Lyon shut the door in a major way. Tanner Jeannot was the Bruins' lone goal-scorer.
If players like David Pastrnak, Morgan Geekie, and Pavel Zacha heat back up in Game 4, it would be huge for a Bruins team that needs to avoid going down 3-1 in the series.
It will be interesting to see how the Bruins' top six responds after their quiet Game 3. If they heat back up and Jeremy Swayman continues to perform well between the pipes, it would greatly help Boston's chances of winning Game 4. However, if the Bruins' top six is once again shut down, the Original Six club could be in some real trouble.
