Winnipeg Jets top prospect Rutger McGroarty has been one of the biggest names in the rumor mill, and there's a real chance that we will see him dealt shortly.
Naturally, there is a lot of interest in McGroarty, as he is a first-round pick who has the potential to blossom into a top-six talent. He is also coming off a dominant season with the University of Michigan, posting 16 goals and 52 points in 36 games.
According to the Winnipeg Free Press' Mike McIntyre, the Boston Bruins are interested in McGroarty and have had talks with the Jets regarding the star prospect.
Given that the Bruins' prospect pool is ranked among the worst in the NHL, it is not too surprising to hear that they have a youngster like McGroarty on their radar. If acquired, he would be a significant addition to their group and instantly become their best prospect.
McGroarty is a skilled forward who is impactful offensively and plays a gritty game, which adds to his value. He has also been heavily praised for his leadership qualities at a young age and notably was captain of Team USA at the 2024 World Junior Championship.
