The Bruins are bringing back Connor Clifton.
The Boston Bruins have announced that they have signed defenseman Connor Clifton to a two-year contract that comes with a $2.25 million AAV.
Clifton spent this past season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he recorded two goals, four assists, six points, 180 hits, and a plus-6 rating. This was after he spent the previous two seasons with the Buffalo Sabres.
Now, after leaving the Bruins during the 2023 off-season in free agency, Clifton is back in Boston with this move. He will provide the Bruins with more depth on the right side of their blueline. However, he is not an answer for the Bruins' top-four right-shot defenseman need.
In 232 games over five seasons with the Bruins from 2018-19 to 2023-24, Clifton posted 10 goals, 23 assists, 33 points, 602 hits, and a plus-37 rating.
