Hockey season is slowly but surely coming up, folks. The Boston Bruins' first regular-season game is just 50 days away, officially marking this as the home stretch.

The preseason gets underway in just 41 days, a little over a month away.

With that in mind, everything's gearing toward an exciting regular season for Boston.

The Bruins added to that excitement by officially unveiling the jersey numbers for the newest Bruins, headlined by trade acquisition JJ Peterka.

Peterka, who Boston acquired on NHL Draft Day in exchange for two first-round picks, will wear #10 with the Bruins.

#10 had most recently been worn by Riley Tufte, and AJ Greer before that.

Last season while with the Utah Mammoth, Peterka wore #77. He also wore #77 with the Buffalo Sabres.

#77 is not an option in Boston, as any fan knows. That number forever belongs to Ray Bourque.

Will Borgen, who the Bruins acquired on July 1 from the New York Rangers, will wear #17.

That number had been most recently worn by Nick Foligno in the 2022-23 season.

Connor Clifton reclaims #75, previously worn by Lukas Reichel last year. Clifton wore #75 for the entirety of his first tenure in Boston, from 2018-19 through 2023.

Reichel, who gave up #75, moves to #76.

He's just the fourth Bruin to ever wear #76, joining Alexander Khokhlachev (2014-16), Kris Vernarsky (2003-04), and Dennis Bonvie (2002).

The excitement for the 2026-27 Bruins continues to build, as jersey numbers for the new guys are now revealed.

With this announcement, it confirms James Hagens will stick with #44, the number most famously worn by 2011 Stanley Cup Champion Dennis Seidenberg.
