Bruins Rookie Defenseman Is Showing Big Signs Of Breaking Out

The Boston Bruins are having a great start to the 2026-27 season, as evidenced by their 7-2-0 record. They are looking like a legitimate playoff team in the Eastern Conference right now and will be aiming to keep it going as the campaign rolls on.

One player who has been standing out early on this season is rookie defenseman Frederic Brunet. The 23-year-old blueliner has been showing a lot of promise so far this season and is proving that he is ready to be in the NHL because of it.

In six games so far this season for Boston, Brunet has posted one goal, one assist, 11 blocks, and a plus-3 rating. He has been smart with the puck and dependable in Boston's own zone. With this, the young defenseman is making a positive impact so far with the Bruins and only creating more optimism about his future with the Black and Gold.

If Brunet can continue to play a strong all-around game as he continues to adjust to the NHL, it would be huge for the Bruins. The young defenseman is already standing out nicely and showing clear signs of breaking out.

It will be fascinating to see if Brunet can keep his strong start going from here. It is hard not to be happy with how he is performing early on.
