The Boston Bruins have done a decent job improving their depth this off-season. Yet, when looking at their current roster, it is clear that they still could use more scoring.

The trade market is one way that the Bruins could look to address this ongoing issue, as there have been some interesting names floating around the rumor mill this summer. Yet, if the Bruins do not want to give up any of their assets right now, there are still some intriguing free agents left who could be worth taking a shot on, whether through a short-term deal or a professional tryout (PTO).

Because of this, let's go over three remaining free agents who the Bruins could be worth targeting, especially if they can be had at an affordable price.

    Jack Roslovic

Jack Roslovic is the top free-agent forward remaining, and he would have the potential to be a solid addition to the Bruins' roster if signed. The 28-year-old forward offers great versatility, as he can play both right wing and center. Due to this, he could help the Bruins in more ways than one if they landed him.

Roslovic spent this past season with the Carolina Hurricanes, and it was a solid year for the Columbus, Ohio native. In 81 regular-season games with the Metropolitan Division club on the season, the 2015 first-round pick scored 22 goals and recorded 39 points. He also appeared in nine playoff games for the Hurricanes, where he posted one goal, three assists, and four points.

If the Bruins signed Roslovic, he would certainly have the potential to provide them with more secondary offensive production. He would offer them another strong option for their middle six and power play due to his skill, so he could be worth taking a shot on with a short-term deal. This is especially so when noting that he has recorded at least 44 points two times during his career.

    Victor Olofsson

With the Bruins needing more scoring, Victor Olofsson is a free agent who could make a lot of sense for them to bring in if the price is cheap. The 30-year-old winger has been a solid sniper for most of his NHL career, and this was once again the case with the Vegas Golden Knights during the 2024-25 season.

After posting just seven goals and 15 points in 51 games with the Buffalo Sabres during the 2023-24 season, Olofsson bounced back in a big way after joining the Golden Knights. In 56 games during the 2024-25 campaign with the Pacific Division club, he recorded 15 goals, 14 assists, 29 points, and a plus-17 rating. With this, he was on pace to score 22 goals and 42 points over a full 82-game schedule.

Olofsson has also hit the 20-goal and 40-point marks three times during his seven-year NHL career, so he certainly has offensive upside. During the 2022-23 season with the Sabres, he scored a career-high 28 goals and recorded 40 points in 75 games. This was after he had 20 goals and a career-high 49 points in 72 games with the Sabres in 2021-22. With the Bruins desperately needing more offense on the wing, Olofsson could be worth pursuing to create more competition for their top nine and power play.

    Joel Kiviranta

Joel Kiviranta is another intriguing free agent left who could be a decent option for the Bruins to take a look at on a PTO. The 29-year-old forward has been a serviceable bottom-six forward throughout his career, but he notably took his offensive game to a higher level this past season with the Colorado Avalanche.

Kiviranta quietly had a strong season with the Avalanche during the 2024-25 campaign, as he set new career highs with 16 goals, seven assists, 23 points, and a plus-15 rating in 79 games. He was also impactful with his physicality, as he finished the campaign with 114 hits. With numbers like these, he gave the Avalanche a bit of everything in a depth role, so he could be a solid under-the-radar player for the Bruins to take a chance on.

When it comes to these three, Kiviranta would be the least notable splash if brought in on a PTO. However, him scoring 16 goals this past season certainly makes him an intriguing option still available.

Overall, while there are not too many big-name free agents left, the Bruins still have some players who could be worth keeping an eye on. Bringing in a skilled player like Roslovic or Olofsson would have the potential to improve the Bruins' middle six, while Kiviranta could offer them a depth forward who can put the puck in the net.

Ultimately, with the Bruins still having some cap space to work with, they could very well be able to afford one of these three. It will be interesting to see if the Bruins end up making another off-season addition before the start of the season from here.
