The Bruins have assigned one of their forwards back to Providence.

The Bruins have announced that they have assigned forward Riley Tufte to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins.
Tufte was called up to the Bruins' roster on Nov. 17. From there, he appeared in four games for Boston, where he posted one goal, one block, seven hits, and a minus-1 rating. Now, with this latest roster move, he will be heading back to Providence.
Providence will certainly be happy to have Tufte back, as he has been excellent for them this season. In 13 games with the AHL squad this campaign, the 2016 first-round pick has posted eight goals, eight assists, 16 points, and a plus-10 rating. This comes after he had 21 goals, 21 assists, 45 points, and 60 penalty minutes in 67 games for Providence during this past season.
If Tufte continues to perform well for Providence after being sent down, it would not be surprising if he gets another chance on Boston's roster later this season.
