The Bruins have made a big decision with one of their top young forwards.

The Boston Bruins have announced that Matthew Poitras has been assigned to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins. 

Poitras, 20, skated as the extra forward at the Bruins’ most recent practice. Now, he is heading to the AHL where he will aim to heat back up. 

Poitras has appeared in 14 games this season with the Bruins, where he has one goal and four points.
