The Boston Bruins will have some new prospects to watch next season. 

The Providence Bruins have announced that they have signed Ty Cheveldayoff, Erik Middendorf, and Zachary Massicotte to one-year American Hockey League (AHL) contracts. 

Cheveldayoff spent this season in the ECHL with the Jacksonville Icemen. The 22-year-old winger posted six goals, 13 assists, 19 points, and a plus-1 rating in 66 games with the ECHL club in 2024-25. The 6-foot-2 forward had a notable 175 penalty minutes, so he undoubtedly will provide Providence with much more bite. 

Cheveldayoff also had a goal in two games with the Bruins' ECHL affiliate, the Maine Mariners, during the 2023-24 season. This was after he had 12 goals, 35 points, and 108 penalty minutes with the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL that season. 

Middendorf is coming off a solid season in the ECHL, posting 21 goals, 54 points, and a plus-30 rating in 67 contests with the South Carolina Stingrays. The 24-year-old winger also has AHL experience, as he had four goals and nine points in 24 games with the Utica Comets in 2023-24. 

As for Massicotte, he played in 64 ECHL games with Maine this campaign, where he recorded two goals, 11 assists, and 13 points. The 6-foot-4 left-shot defenseman also had zero points and a minus-2 rating in four games with the Belleville Senators in 2024-25. In 27 career AHL games over three season, the 24-year-old has recorded one assist and eight penalty minutes.
