Providence has a new forward.
The Providence Bruins have added a new forward to their roster, as they have signed forward Cross Hanas to an AHL deal for the 2026-27 season.
Hanas spent last season in the AHL with the Texas Stars, where he recorded 15 goals, 23 assists, 38 points, and a plus-6 rating in 56 games. This was after he recorded nine goals and 17 points in 58 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL during the 2024-25 season.
Hanas was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, 55th overall. In 202 career AHL games over four seasons, he has recorded 41 goals, 47 assists, 88 points, and 132 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1 forward has yet to play at the NHL level at this point in his career.
Hanas will now be looking to make an impact with Providence this season on his AHL deal. If the 24-year-old forward impresses down in Providence, perhaps it could help his chances of landing an NHL contract from the Boston Bruins in the future.
