The Boston Bruins picked up an impressive 3-0 win against the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 4. Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman was the club's top star of the game, as he put together a 36-save shutout against Minnesota.
Following the Bruins' big win, Swayman had some incredibly kind words to say about future Hall of Famer Marc-Andre Fleury, who will be retiring at the end of the season.
Marc-Andre Fleury "I think he's got another 1,000 games in him, honestly," Swayman said about Fleury. "I love talking to that guy. He's a role model of mine, and I'm sure for so many more... He's just a class act. There's a reason why he's had success in this league for so long. [He's] one that I really cherish playing against and really respect."
It makes sense that Swayman looks up to Fleury, as he has had such an incredible NHL career. In 1,044 NHL games over 21 seasons, the 2003 first-overall pick has a 572-336-97 record, a .912 save percentage, and a 2.60 goals-against average. The 40-year-old is also having a solid season with the Wild in 2024-25, as he has an 11-6-1 record, a 2.57 goals-against average, and a .910 save percentage.
