Many questions surround Brad Marchand's future with the Boston Bruins. The 36-year-old star is a pending unrestricted free agent, and the Bruins currently do not hold a playoff spot. Due to this, he has been the subject of trade speculation, and it is only continuing.
In his latest NHL trade board for The Athletic, NHL insider Chris Johnston ranked Brad Marchand at the No. 10 spot.
Johnston writes:
"After a brief appearance on the Big Board earlier this season, the Bruins captain returns with his team currently on the wrong side of the playoff cut-off line and featuring an ugly goal differential. While it’s still not clear if Boston would actually move Marchand, his name is circulating in the rumor mill."

A trade centering around Marchand would undoubtedly spark a new era for the Bruins. He has been a big part of their core since their 2011 Stanley Cup championship run and is still one of their best players today. In 56 games this season, he has 19 goals and 43 points.
As we continue to inch closer to the March 7 deadline, questions about Marchand's future in Boston will only continue. This would change, of course, if he signed a contract extension with the team before it and/or if the Bruins jump up quickly in the NHL standings.
From here, it will be fascinating to see what happens with Marchand and the Bruins. There is no question that the team has a big decision to make, one way or another.
