The Bruins star has the potential to hit two new milestones this season.
Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy had a strong 2025-26 season and certainly played a role in the Original Six club getting back into the playoffs. In 69 games for the Bruins this past campaign, he scored 11 goals and set new career highs with 50 assists and 61 points.
Now, McAvoy is entering the 2026-27 season with the potential to reach two new career milestones.
First, McAvoy needs only 10 more assists to reach the 300th of his NHL career. This should not be difficult for McAvoy to achieve to at all if he stays healthy, as he has never had a season with under 10 assists.
McAvoy is also 39 points away from hitting the 400-point mark of his NHL career. This is another obtainable milestone for the Bruins star defenseman this season. He has recorded over 39 points in four of his NHL seasons.
With this, McAvoy is going to be a player to watch closely next season once he gets back from his suspension. It will be intriguing to see what kind of season he can put together for the Black and Gold.
