Bruins Star's Bounce-Back Year Is Impossible To Ignore cover image

This Bruins goalie deserves plenty of praise for his impressive bounce-back season.

The Boston Bruins picked up a big 3-1 win over the Washington Capitals on Saturday afternoon. With it, the Bruins have improved to a 35-22-5 record and are now have a three-point lead over the Columbus Blue Jackets for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman was a significant reason for the Bruins' win, as he put together an excellent performance for the Black and Gold. The Anchorage, Alaska native stepped up in a big way for the Bruins against Washington, as he stopped 22 out of 23 shots he faced. With this, he had a .957 save percentage on the afternoon.

This was just the latest strong performance from Swayman this season for the Bruins. The 27-year-old goaltender has been hot as of late, as he stopped 34 out of 35 shots against the Pittsburgh Penguins in his previous start as well.

Swayman's bounce-back season with the Bruins is undoubtedly something that fans should not ignore. While he had a nightmare 2024-25 campaign, he has turned things back around this campaign and is a massive reason why this retooling Bruins club currently holds a playoff spot in March.

In 41 games this season with the Bruins, Swayman has a 24-13-3 record, a .906 save percentage, and a 2.80 goals-against average. This is after he had a 22-29-7 record, a 3.11 goals-against average, and a .892 save percentage last season. With this, it is safe to say that Swayman has been far better in 2025-26.
