Bruins Target Emerging As Hot Name On Trade Market cover image

One Bruins trade target is starting to generate more interest around the NHL.

The Boston Bruins have been linked to several defensemen leading up to the 2026 NHL trade deadline. One of them is Philadelphia Flyers blueliner Rasmus Ristolainen.

The Bruins' interest in Ristolainen is understandable, as they are in need of a right-shot defenseman who can play top-four minutes. However, the same can be said for several other teams, and the Bruins have some real competition in the Ristolainen sweepstakes because of it.

According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Ristolainen's trade market has increased on Thursday, and multiple news teams are expressing interest in the Flyers defenseman.

Interest increasing in Ristolainen is understandable, as multiple defensemen have been traded this week. MacKenzie Weegar was recently traded to the Utah Mammoth. while Connor Murphy has been dealt to the Edmonton Oilers. With this, Ristolainen stands out as one of the top right-shot blueliners available for trade.

It will be interesting to see if the Bruins end up being the team that lands Ristolainen, but it is clear that he has several suitors. If the Bruins did successfully acquire, he could slot well on their second pairing and penalty kill due to his hard-nosed style of play.
