The Bruins have finally traded Linus Ullmark.

Over the last several weeks, Linus Ullmark was one of the top trade candidates in the NHL. Now, the sweepstakes have finally come to an end.
The Bruins have traded Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators for goaltender Joonas Korpisalo (25% retained), forward Mark Kastelic, and the 25th overall pick, which was originally Boston's.

With this move, the Senators have landed their much-needed starting goalie. Ullmark should give their group a massive boost as they look to finally break their playoff drought. And they got him without giving up too much.
By adding Korpisalo, the Bruins are getting an experienced netminder who will be their new backup. Korpisalo is coming off a very rough season, posting a 21-26-4 record, a .890 SV%, and a 3.27 GAA. The Bruins are hoping he will regain his previous form, as he is under contract until the end of the 2027-28 season. Bringing him in, even with salary retention, is a clear risk.
Kastelic, 25, is a hard-nosed center who should compete for a spot in the Bruins' bottom six next season. In 63 games this season, he had five goals, 10 points, 63 penalty minutes, and 126 hits.
The Bruins will now also be making a first-round selection for the first time since 2021.
Ullmark completes his tenure as a Bruin with an 88-26-10 record, a .924 SV%, and a 2.28 GAA. What a free-agent addition for the Bruins, and he will certainly be missed in Boston.
