Fabian Lysell's time with the Bruins is over.

The Boston Bruins have announced that they have traded forward Fabian Lysell to the Colorado Avalanche for forward Ivan Ivan.

This marks the end of Lysell's time with the Bruins organization, and it is safe to say that it did not go as they had hoped.

Lysell, who was selected by the Bruins with the 21st overall pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, was never able to cement himself as a full-time NHL player with Boston. Now, the former first-round pick will be looking to change that with Colorado.

Lysell played in his first 12 career NHL games for Boston during the 2024-25 season, where he had one goal and three points. He did not make an appearance for Boston this past season, however, as he spent the season in the AHL with the Providence Bruins. In 57 games with Providence in 2025-26, he had 17 goals and 42 points.

As for Ivan, the Bruins are bringing in another young forward who is looking to become a full-time NHL player. The 23-year-old forward played in nine games for the Avalanche last season, where he had one assist. He also played in 40 games for the Avalanche in 2024-25, posting five goals and eight points.

Down in the AHL this past season, Ivan had 11 goals, 15 assists, and 26 points in 66 games.
