Matthew Poitras is proving that he belongs in the NHL.

The Boston Bruins picked up an impressive 6-3 win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night. With this victory, Boston now has a 5-2-0 record and are tied with the Ottawa Senators at the top of the Atlantic Division.

Matthew Poitras contributed in Boston's win, as he scored at the 8:42 mark of the second period to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead. This was the latest solid performance for Poitras early on this campaign.

With his goal against the Sharks, Poitras now has two goals and three points in four games so far this season. With numbers like these, Poitras is continuing to show the Bruins that he deserves to stay in their lineup.

If Poitras can continue to chip in solid secondary scoring this season, it would be huge for the Bruins. The 2022 second-round pick is still plenty young enough to get better, and he is showing signs of finally breaking out early on this season.

It will now be interesting to see how Poitras builds on his strong start to the season. If he takes that next step, he would help out a Bruins club that needs all the offensive help it can get.
