David Pastrnak joined the 700-point club Monday night against the Seattle Kraken.

The forward notched his 700th – 701st and 702nd – NHL point in the Boston Bruins’ 4-3 shootout loss at Climate Pledge Arena with two goals and one assist. Pastrnak is just the 10th Bruin to accomplish this accolade.

“It’s nice to get it,” Pastrnak said between periods Monday on NESN.

The three points broke a two-game pointless drought for the Czech, and marked his eighth multi-goal game of the season – and first since Jan. 27 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Pastrnak was skating on the second line with Jake DeBrusk and Pavel Zacha – a trio Montgomery put back together Monday after James van Riemsdyk previously occupied the left wing position instead of DeBrusk.

Pastrnak’s 700th career point came in the first period to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. Kevin Shattenkirk made a long outlet pass up the middle of the ice that Pastrnak picked up at the offensive blue line before heading for the net. The alternate captain flipped the puck over Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer’s glove-side at 5:53 to reach the milestone.

“You get a taste of it, and you want to score more and more,” Pastrnak said to reporters Monday.

Zacha connected with Pastrnak for his second goal of the night. Charlie McAvoy got the puck down to Zacha behind the net after a strong keep-in at the point, and the center back-handed it to Pastrnak who was crashing the crease. The snapshot secured Pastrnak’s 38th goal – and 84th point – of the season, and gave the Bruins a 2-1 advantage with 2:52 remaining in the middle frame.

Pastrnak helped tie the game 3-3 at 17:08 of the third period while on the power play for his third point of the night. Charlie Coyle tipped in a Pastrnak wrister from the right circle to force overtime.

The Bruins ultimately fell in the shootout and the Kraken swept the regular season series between the two teams, also winning 4-1 at TD Garden on Feb. 15.

“We play a great game and then in the third we kind of let them push, which we must expect,” Pastrnak said. “Good teams, they’re going to make their push. We need to refocus and kind of get back to our rhythm.”
