This former Bruins defenseman is red-hot with his new club right now.

During this past off-season, the Boston Bruins decided not to re-sign defenseman Matt Grzelcyk. This was not particularly surprising, as he was scratched for most of the Bruins' post-season run last year.

After becoming an unrestricted free agent this past summer, Grzelcyk signed a one-year, $2.75 million contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He had a bit of a slow start to his tenure with the Penguins, but he is heating up immensely.

Grzelcyk has one goal and four points over his last three games and eight points over his previous eight games. With numbers like these, the Charlestown, Massachusetts native is starting to make a big impact for the Penguins.

Due to his hot stretch of play, Grzelcyk now has one goal to go along with 16 points in 33 games with the Penguins this campaign. Last season with the Bruins, he had only one goal and 11 points in 63 games, so it is fair to say that he has already bounced back as a member of the Penguins.
