Former Bruins defenseman Parker Wotherspoon has been traded to the Golden Knights.
After a strong breakout year with the Pittsburgh Penguins, former Boston Bruins defenseman Parker Wotherspoon is on the move.
The Penguins have announced that they have traded Wotherspoon to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for defenseman Kaedan Korczak.
After being a depth defenseman during his time with the Bruins, Wotherspoon played top-pairing minutes on the Penguins this past season. The move to Pittsburgh certainly benefited the former Bruins blueliner, as he set career highs with three goals, 27 assists, 30 points, 112 blocks, 162 hits, and a plus-30 rating. However, he is now heading to the Golden Knights and will be looking to build off his breakout year from here.
Wotherspoon spent two seasons with the Bruins from 2023-24 to 2024-25. In 96 games with the Black and Gold over that span, he recorded one goal, 14 assists, 15 points, 133 blocks, and 159 hits. While he did not have the same kind of success with the Bruins that he had with the Penguins, he was still a decent depth blueliner for Boston during his time with the club.
It will now be interesting to see if Wotherspoon can put together another good year now that he has been traded to the Golden Knights. He has the potential to be a solid addition to Vegas' roster.
