Former Boston Bruins defenseman Jakub Zboril is a free agent again.

HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga announced that they have agreed to terminate Zboril's contract.

After not landing a contract with the New Jersey Devils following his professional tryout (PTO) at their training camp, Zboril signed with HC Dynamo Pardubice. Now, after playing a year with HC Dynamo Pardubice, he will be looking for a new home elsewhere.

In 30 regular-season games this past campaign with HC Dynamo Padubice, Zboril recorded two goals, 12 assists, 14 points, and a plus-12 rating. He also recorded five assists in 16 playoff games for the Czech club.

Zboril was selected by the Bruins with the 13th overall pick of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. In 76 games over four seasons with the Original Six club, he recorded one goal, 15 assists, 16 points, and 121 hits. His time with the Bruins ended when he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets with a 2027 third-round pick in exchange for defenseman Andrew Peeke at the 2024 NHL trade deadline.

Overall, Zboril never became the top-four defenseman the Bruins hoped he would and was more of a depth blueliner while with the Original Six club.

Because of this, the Bruins have still not addressed some of their most notable roster needs this summer.
