This former Bruin should be a hot commodity on the trade market.

Jake DeBrusk and Charlie Coyle were The Hockey News picks for the mid-season Selke Trophy.

Leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, former Boston Bruins forward Reilly Smith was discussed heavily in the rumor mill. The veteran winger struggled during his first season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, leading to speculation about his availability. However, the Penguins held onto him for the remainder of the year.

While Smith did not get dealt during this season, there is a clear expectation that they will listen to offers for him again this summer. The fit has not been there in Pittsburgh, and the 33-year-old would benefit from a fresh start.

When noting that Smith is an impactful middle-six winger with plenty of playoff experience, there is no question that he should garner trade interest this offseason. He did at the trade deadline, with clubs like the Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche, and Nashville Predators previously being linked to him

Smith appeared in 76 games this season with the Penguins, where he had 13 goals, 40 points, and a plus-3 rating. Even in what was a down season, he still had pretty solid numbers.

Teams looking for a boost in their top nine and on their power play certainly could take a shot on an impactful forward like Smith.

In 163 games as a Bruin over two seasons, Smith had 33 goals and 91 points.
