This former Bruins forward is heating up with his new team.

Before the start of free agency this past summer, the Boston Bruins elected not to tender forward Jesper Boqvist a qualifying offer. From there, he became an unrestricted free agent and signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Florida Panthers.

Boqvist, 26, is off to a decent start with the Panthers, as he has four goals, nine points, and 63 hits in 27 games. This is after he had six goals and 14 points in 47 games with the Bruins last season.

However, Boqvist is starting to heat up with the Panthers, as he has three assists over his last two games. He also has four points over his last four contests, so he is starting to find his rhythm offensively.

Overall, Boqvist has proven to be a nice depth addition for the Panthers. He is providing them with a bit of secondary offensive production and grit while also having a very low cap hit. Seeing how he builds on his hot streak from here will be fascinating.
