While the Boston Bruins are on their 4 Nations Face-Off break, their AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins, are still playing games. Providence faced off against the Utica Comets on Feb. 14, where they secured a 5-1 win.
Bruins prospect Georgii Merkulov played a role in Providence's win, as he scored the club's game-opening goal at the 1:19 mark of the first period. After receiving an absolutely beautiful between-the-legs backhand pass from John Farinacci, Merkulov fired it home.
With this goal, Merkulov now has points in back-to-back games and five goals and 14 points over his last 13 contests. In addition, he now sits at 12 goals and 41 points in 43 games this season with Providence.

Merkulov is one of the Bruins' top prospects, so seeing him continue to produce so consistently with Providence is very encouraging. If he keeps this up, perhaps another call-up to Boston's roster could be in his near future.
