This former Bruins forward will continue his career overseas

Former Boston Bruins forward Oskar Steen is heading overseas and will be there for a long time. He has signed a five-year contract with Farjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
Steen and Farjestad BK know each other very well, as the 2016 sixth-round pick developed his game with the organization before starting his North American career. Now, he will be a big part of their roster for a long time.
Steen, 26, became an unrestricted free agent this offseason after the Bruins elected not to re-sign him. Given how he dropped on the Bruins' depth chart this past season, it is understandable that both parties elected to move on from each other.

Steen appeared in 34 games this past season with Boston, posting one goal, zero assists, 79 hits, and a minus-2 rating. He also spent time down in the AHL with the Providence Bruins, recording 12 goals and 16 points in 25 games.
During his multiple years with the organization, Steen was a solid call-up option and energy guy for the Bruins. In 60 career NHL games with the Bruins over four seasons, Steen had four goals, eight points, and a minus-4 rating.
