This former Bruins forward is having a good start to the season with the Red Wings.
The Boston Bruins lost forward Viktor Arvidsson in free agency to the Detroit Red Wings. The 33-year-old signed a two-year, $10 million contract with Detroit and is already making an impact with them.
In his first three games of the season for the Red Wings, Arvidsson has posted two goals and three points. The former Bruin also scored a goal and recorded an assist in the Red Wings' 5-3 win over the Ottawa Senators in their last game.
Seeing Arvidsson have a strong start with the Red Wings is not too surprising. He was very good for the Bruins last season and is building right off that in Detroit.
In 69 games during this past season with the Bruins, Arvidsson posted 25 goals, 29 assists, 54 points, and a plus-20 rating. With numbers like these, he was a big part of the Bruins' second line.
Speaking of the Bruins' second line, they have been off to a poor start this season. Arvidsson's linemates from last season, Pavel Zacha and Casey Mittelstadt, both have not recorded a point yet this season.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if Arvidsson can keep this kind of play going for Detroit from here.
