Could Jake DeBrusk end up back in the Atlantic Division?

Former Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk is one of the NHL's top trade candidates heading into the off-season. With the Vancouver Canucks in a rebuild, there is an expectation that the 2015 first-round pick could be dealt this summer.

Now, DeBrusk is being linked to one of the Bruins' division rivals.

According to the Ottawa Citizen's Bruce Garrioch, the Senators are interested in DeBrusk.

"Two league sources told the Ottawa Citizen in the last 24 hours that they believe the Senators are among a group of teams that have shown interest in Vancouver Canucks winger Jake DeBrusk, who has scored 20 goals or more in four of the last five seasons," Garrioch wrote.

Hearing that the Senators have interest in DeBrusk is not necessarily surprising, as they could use another scorer in their lineup. However, it would certainly be interesting to see DeBrusk end up on the Senators, as they are one of the Bruins' division rivals.

DeBrusk spent seven seasons with the Bruins from 2017-18 to 2023-24, where he posted 138 goals, 128 assists, 266 points, and a plus-51 rating in 465 games. While there were certainly some tough moments during his Bruins tenure, he was still one of the Original Six club's top scoring forwards for much of his time with the organization.

It will be interesting to see if DeBrusk ends up being traded to the Senators. If he does, he would be back in the Atlantic Division for a while, as he is signed until the end of the 2030-31 season.
