The Boston Bruins are gearing up for what should be a busy off-season. After performing far below expectations during the 2024-25 season, Bruins general manager Don Sweeney will be looking to improve the team's roster.

When looking at the Bruins' current group, it is not hard to see that they desperately need to add at least one more top-six winger if they hope to be more of a real threat next season. They also have a good amount of money to work with, so they are in a position to do some spending.

Due to this, during a recent episode of The Daily Faceoff Rundown, NHL insider Frank Seravalli brought up the possibility of the Bruins pursuing Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser if he becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

"I wonder if they take a run at, I know it's not a center, but do they take a run in free agency at replacing some of the goals scored by Jake DeBrusk? Do they go after Brock Boeser? An interesting kind of Vancouver swap is what that would be," Seravalli said.

When taking a look at the Bruins' weak depth at right wing, Seravalli wondering if the Bruins could target Boeser is certainly understandable. They have a clear hole at their second-line right wing spot, and bringing in a highly impactful sniper like Boeser would fix that major problem immediately.

Boeser played in 75 games this season with the Canucks, where he recorded 25 goals and 50 points. He also had 40 goals and 73 points in 81 games with the Canucks in 2023-24, so he would be a big-time pickup for the Bruins' top six and power play if signed.

Another appealing factor about Boeser is that he is 28 years old and right in his prime. Due to this, he could be a great long-term fit on a Bruins club looking to become a playoff team again.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the Bruins end up pursuing Boeser in free agency this summer. If not Boeser, other pending UFA wingers who can hit the market on July 1 include Nikolaj Ehlers, Brad Marchand, and Mitch Marner.

One of them is the right side of their defense, as they need to find a proper replacement for Brandon Carlo, who was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 2025 NHL trade deadline.
