After months of trade speculation, Linus Ullmark was finally traded by the Boston Bruins on Monday night. He will certainly be missed by the club and their fans, and he is exactly the kind of star goalie the Ottawa Senators needed. However, with Jeremy Swayman ready to be the Bruins' full-time starter, moving on from Ullmark was necessary.
Last evening, Ullmark expressed immense gratitude to the Bruins by posting a heartfelt goodbye on his Instagram account. In it, he thanked not only his former teammates and coaches but also the club's management, trainers, workers, chefs, and fans. That's an incredibly kind gesture.

Ullmark also addressed some of his favorite highlights of his time as a Bruin. While he easily could have said his magical 2022-23 regular season when he won the Vezina Trophy and William M. Jennings Trophy, he instead discussed memories of his former teammates and fans.
Among his favorite teammate memories were when Patrice Bergeron hit 1,000 career points, Brad Marchand played in his 1,000th game, and David Pastrnak scored his 60th goal in 2022-23.
This message from Ullmark was an excellent way for the former Bruins star to say goodbye to the Bruins. He deserves a very warm reception from Bruins fans when he returns to TD Garden next season.
