The Maple Leafs won't have their top forward for the rest of Game 4.

The Boston Bruins are looking to close out Game 4 and secure a 3-1 series lead over the Toronto Maple Leafs. However, the Maple Leafs' play has improved in the third, and they are not going to make it easy for the Bruins.

The Bruins won't need to deal with the Maple Leafs' top player in the third, as Auston Matthews has been ruled out for the rest of Game 4.

Matthews, 26, was dealing with an illness over the last few days, so that may be the reason why he won't return. However, the Maple Leafs have not confirmed this to be the reason.

While Matthews is done for the night, the Bruins cannot take the Maple Leafs lightly in the third. They still have other stars like Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and Tyler Bertuzzi, who can do damage. As a result, the Bruins cannot take their foot off the gas pedal.
