The Boston Bruins' season opener just keeps getting uglier.

The Boston Bruins have had a brutal start to their season opener against the Florida Panthers. They ended the second period down by a 5-2 score and have been significantly outplayed.
Nothing seems to be going right for the Bruins, and their frustration has naturally increased because of it. Unfortunately, this led new Bruins forward Max Jones to take an ugly penalty against the Cats.

While in a scrum with Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues, Jones went to slash the Panthers forward's stick. Unfortunately, Jones missed entirely and instead accidentally slashed the referee. Following the accident, Jones was handed a two-minute unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
This is certainly something that both Jones and Bruins fans will remember from the gritty forward's debut for a long time.
