The Boston Bruins had themselves a busy July 1. The Original Six club signed multiple new players in an attempt to improve their roster as they look to bounce back in 2025-26.

One of the players who the Bruins added earlier this off-season was Michael Eyssimont. The Bruins signed the 28-year-old forward to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $1.45 million. While this is a move that has not been talked about too much, it has the potential to be a very good one for the Bruins.

When looking at the way Eyssimont plays, he has the potential to be a nice addition to the Bruins' bottom six. This is because the Colorado native is a solid energy player who is not afraid to throw the body, kill penalties, and can chip in a bit offensively. He will also give the Bruins' fourth line more speed, which is certainly needed.

During this past season, Eyssimont posted nine goals, seven assists, 16 points, and 110 hits in 77 games split between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Seattle Kraken. While his offense was a bit low this past season, he has shown that he has the potential to provide more when playing at his best.

For example, just back in 2023-24 with the Lightning, Eyssimont set career highs with 11 goals, 14 assists, and 25 points in 81 games. If the 28-year-old can get his offense back up like that and maintain his gritty style of play, he will be a nice pickup for a Bruins team looking to get things back on track.

It will be fascinating to see what kind of season Eyssimont can put together for the Bruins in 2025-26. The potential for him to be an impactful addition to the Bruins' bottom six is there.
