The Boston Bruins are keeping one of their prospects around.
The Bruins have announced that they have signed forward John Farinacci to a one-year, two-way contract. At the NHL level, the 24-year-old forward will have a $775,000 cap hit.
Farinacci made his NHL debut for the Bruins during their 2024-25 season finale against the New Jersey Devils and certainly left a strong first impression. The 5-foot-11 forward scored his first career NHL goal in the matchup in 10:58 of ice time.
Farinacci spent the majority of the year down in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Providence Bruins, however. In 58 regular-season games with the AHL squad, he had 10 goals, 28 assists, 38 points, and a plus-9 rating. He also scored one goal in eight playoff games for Providence this spring.
When looking at the Bruins' current roster, Farinacci stands out as a call-up candidate for Boston when injuries arise. It will be intriguing to see what kind of year the New Jersey native can have in 2025-26 after earning this new contract from here.
