The Boston Bruins have added some good old toughness to their roster.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Bruins have signed forward Tanner Jeannot to a five-year, $17 million contract. Starting next season, he will carry a $3.4 million contract.

Jeannot appeared in 67 games this past season with the Los Angeles Kings, where he posted seven goals, 13 points, 89 penalty minutes, and 211 hits. Overall, it was another quiet year offensively for the 28-year-old winger, but he once again made an impact with his physicality.

The Bruins will be hoping that Jeannot can regain some of the offensive form he had during the 2021-22 season when he posted 24 goals and 41 points in 81 games with the Nashville Predators.

Overall, this is certainly an interesting signing, and it will be intriguing to see how this deal ages for the Bruins.
