If the Bruins want to add more youth to their lineup, they should consider targeting these two forwards.

The Boston Bruins will be an interesting team to watch during the summer. After taking a nice step in the right direction this season, they should be looking to improve their roster during the off-season.

However, with the Bruins being a team focused on both the present and future, it would be understandable if they were open to adding younger talent. This is especially the case when it comes to their forward group.

Due to this, let's look at two young forwards the Bruins should consider pursuing this off-season.

Mavrik Bourque, Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars are entering the summer with limited cap space. Due to this, Mavrik Bourque, who is a pending restricted free agent, has been creating chatter as a potential trade candidate. If the Stars officially make him available, he could be a young forward the Bruins consider targeting. The 24-year-old is a skilled forward who can play both center and on the wing.  He also just had a breakout year. In 82 games this season, he had 20 goals and 41 points.

Kent Johnson, Columbus Blue Jackets

With the Bruins needing help in their top six, Columbus Blue Jackets forward Kent Johnson could be a player worth taking a flier on. The 23-year-old had a down year, posting just seven goals and 22 points in 76 games. However, the 2021 fifth-overall pick also had 24 goals and 57 points in 68 games for Columbus in 2024-25. With this, he has already shown that he can be an impactful scorer in the NHL and could be a nice pickup for Boston because of it.
