These three teams could look to sign Viktor Arvidsson if he does not re-sign with the Bruins.
With July 1 almost here, pending UFA forward Viktor Arvidsson has still not re-signed with the Boston Bruins. If this does not change by noon ET on Wednesday, the veteran winger will hit the market.
When noting that Arvidsson posted 25 goals, 29 assists, and 54 points in 69 games for the Bruins this past season, he will generate a lot of interest if he decides to test the market. This year's free agency class is weak, and Arvidsson is one of the top wingers who can hit the market.
Because of this, let's look at three potential teams that could sign Arvidsson if he does not re-sign with the Bruins.
Buffalo Sabres
After trading Alex Tuch, it would not be surprising if the Sabres look to add another winger to their roster. While Arvidsson would not provide the same kind of impact as Tuch, he would still have the potential to be a strong addition to the Buffalo's middle six and power play if signed.
Columbus Blue Jackets
Arvidsson could be a player who grabs the attention of the Blue Jackets this off-season. Their forward group could take a hit this off-season, as Mason Marchment and Boone Jenner are both pending UFAs. With the Blue Jackets looking to become a playoff team, they could pivot to Arvidsson if they lose one or both of their top pending UFAs.
New Jersey Devils
The Devils could use another skilled winger in their top six. They have had trouble finding a winger to work on a line with Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt. Due to this, it would be understandable if they considered pursuing Arvidsson this summer. He showed this season that he can still be an impactful top-six forward, and he could thrive playing in a line with two superstars like Hughes and Bratt.
