Mason Lohrei is continuing to create chatter as a trade candidate. Which teams could make sense as landing spots for him?

Boston Bruins defenseman Mason Lohrei was among the players listed on NHL insider Chris Johnston's latest trade board for The Athletic. It is easy to understand, as the 6-foot-5 defenseman was in the rumor mill often this season and was notably scratched for multiple games during the playoffs.

It is fair to argue that Lohrei could use a fresh start, and he could be a decent trade chip for the Bruins to dangle due to his young age. Because of this, let's look at three teams that could look to acquire Lohrei during the off-season if the Bruins shop him.

San Jose Sharks

The Sharks could be a team to keep an eye on when it comes to Lohrei this off-season. The Sharks are entering the summer with several pending unrestricted free agents and could use some help on the left side of their blueline. With Lohrei being a big defenseman who is just 25 years old, he could be a nice fit on a team on the rise like San Jose.

Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers could use a puck-moving defenseman on their left side, so they would make sense as a suitor for Lohrei. If the Flyers acquired him, he could work nicely on a pairing with shutdown defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen. Lohrei would also give the Flyers another clear option for their power play due to his offensive skill.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets could be another team to watch in the Lohrei sweepstakes. The Jets' left side lost some size this season when they traded 6-foot-7 defenseman Logan Stanley to the Buffalo Sabres. If they acquired Lohrei, he would have the potential to be a nice fit on their bottom pairing.
