Which Bruins could be on the move this summer?

The Boston Bruins' off-season is here after their first-round series loss to the Buffalo Sabres. Now, the Bruins have some serious decisions to make when it comes to their roster during the summer.

When looking at the Bruins' current roster, it is clear that they should be looking to make some changes this off-season. Because of this, let's take a look at three Bruins trade candidates to watch during the summer.

Mason Lohrei

Mason Lohrei generated plenty of chatter as a trade candidate leading up to the deadline, and it would not be surprising if this carries over to the summer. This is especially so when noting that he was scratched for the Bruins' final three playoff games against the Sabres.

Lohrei appears to have become the odd man out on Boston's blueline, and it is fair to argue that the 25-year-old could use a change of scenery. With Lohrei being a young and big defender with decent offensive upside, he could generate some interest from other clubs.

In 73 games this season for Boston, he had seven goals, 19 assists, and 26 points.

Matthew Poitras

Matthew Poitras is another young Bruin who could use a fresh start elsewhere. The Bruins barely used him on their NHL roster this season, as he played in just three games for the NHL club. The 22-year-old center is currently blocked from the NHL roster, and the Bruins also have multiple other promising prospects in their system.

With this, it is fair to wonder if Poitras could be included in a trade package for a player that would help the Bruins immediately. He is still young enough that he could have some trade value, but his days of being Boston's top prospect are over.

In three games this season with Boston, Poitras scored one goal. He also had 13 goals and 44 points in 69 games with Providence this regular-season.

Mikey Eyssimont

Could Mikey Eyssimont be a player the Bruins look to move this summer? The Bruins have a surplus of bottom-six forwards, and Eyssimont was scratched often this season because of it. Thus, he could be a player the Bruins are open to moving to free up a bit more cap space.

In 56 regular-season games this campaign with the Bruins, Eyssimont had eight goals, 10 assists, 18 points, and 54 hits. He also played in two playoff games for Boston this spring, where he was held off the scoresheet.

Joonas Korpisalo

With Michael DiPietro continuing to dominate the AHL, it would make sense if the Bruins made Joonas Korpisalo available this summer. The free-agent goalie market this summer is not the strongest, so that could make Korpisalo a more appealing target for teams needing help between the pipes.

In 31 games this season with the Bruins, Korpisalo had a 14-9-6 record, an .894 save percentage, and a 3.15 goals-against average. With numbers like these, he is a serviceable backup. However, his $3 million cap hit until the end of the 2027-28 season could make moving him a bit of a challenge.
