The Boston Bruins are currently sporting a 20-15-0 record and are in third place in the Atlantic Division standings. Due to their solid start, they are setting themselves up to be buyers this season after being big-time sellers this past campaign.
One of the Bruins' biggest needs is another forward, and they are continuing to be linked to one of the NHL's most notable trade candidates because of it.
According to Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch, the Bruins are among the teams that have expressed interest in Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood. In addition to the Bruins, Garrioch noted that the Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Philadelphia Flyers all have Sherwood on their radar.
This is not the first time that the Bruins have been connected to Sherwood, and it makes sense given their need for another impactful winger. If the Bruins landed him, he would provide them with another solid middle-six forward to work with. This is because he not only contributes offensively, but also can kill penalties and plays a heavy game.
In 33 games so far this season with the Canucks, Sherwood has posted 13 goals, 17 points, and 146 hits. This is after he set career highs with 19 goals, 21 assists, 40 points, and an NHL record 462 hits in 78 games last season with Vancouver.
