Pavel Zacha is reportedly generating some trade interest around the league.
Boston Bruins center Pavel Zacha is entering the final year of his contract in 2026-27, and he is reportedly starting to generate some trade interest because of it.
In a recent article for Sportsnet, Nick Kypreos reported that the Nashville Predators, Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers, and Montreal Canadiens all have Zacha on their radar.
"The Bruins are in a real pickle with 29-year-old Zacha and teams like Nashville, Columbus, Philadelphia and Montreal are watching closely," Kypreos wrote.
Hearing that Zacha is already grabbing the attention of other clubs is not too surprising. The longer he goes without a contract extension, the more questions will come up about his future in Boston.
Given his importance to the Bruins' roster, it would not be surprising if they worked hard to sign him to a contract extension soon. He is currently their best center, after all.
Yet, if negotations do not go well between the Bruins and Zacha, it could very well lead to the Original Six club moving on from him this season. He is too valuable of a player for the Bruins to potentially lose for nothing next summer. This is especially so when noting that the Bruins are not top Stanley Cup contenders.
Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see what the Bruins decide to do with Zacha this season.
