The Bruins are looking to move on from this defenseman.
As the Boston Bruins prepare for their season opener against the New York Rangers, they have made one of their defenseman available for trade.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Bruins are trying to trade defenseman Henri Jokiharju.
"Boston is trying to find a new home for Henri Jokiharju, who cleared waivers," Friedman wrote.
Hearing that the Bruins are shopping Jokiharju is not too difficult to understand. As Friedman noted, the Bruins recently waived Jokiharju. With this, it would be completely understandable if they traded the right-shot defenseman soon.
Teams looking for help on the right side of their defense could consider taking a chance on Jokiharju with a trade.
Jokiharju has a $3 million cap hit through the 2027-28 season. With this, he would be more than a one-year rental for any potential suitors.
Jokiharju appeared in 42 games during this past season with the Bruins, where he recorded two goals, 13 assists, 15 points, 27 hits, 37 blocks, and a plus-2 rating. This was after he posted four assists and a plus-7 rating during the 2024-25 season with the Bruins after being acquired from the Buffalo Sabres.
