Could the Bruins not view this forward as a part of their future?

Could the Bruins not view this forward as a part of their future?

Boston Bruins forward Justin Brazeau is one of the club's most notable pending unrestricted free agents. The 6-foot-6 winger has had a solid season for the Bruins, posting 10 goals, 20 points, and 81 hits in 51 games.

With Brazeau being a pending UFA, questions have come up about his future with the Bruins. He has created chatter as a trade candidate, but some have also wondered if Boston could look to keep him around, too.

In a recent column for The Fourth Period, NHL insider David Pagnotta provided an update on where things are at between the Brazeau and the Bruins.

According to Pagnotta, the Bruins had extension talks with Brazeau back in December. However, he then noted that "it's been crickets since" between the power forward's camp and B's. In addition, Pagnotta shared that Brazeau is generating "some interest" around the NHL.

Hearing that talks between the Bruins and Brazeau have reportedly gone quiet is notable. The NHL trade deadline is a little over a month away, and the Bruins will have a big decision to make with the 27-year-old if this remains the case then.

It will be interesting to see what ends up happening between the Bruins and Brazeau from here.
