Ryan Mougenal is reportedly moving on from the Providence Bruins.

According to Hockey 24/7's Frank Seravalli, Providence Bruins head coach Ryan Mougenel is joining the Vancouver Canucks' coaching staff.

Mounegel heading to the Canucks' organization comes after he was named AHL Coach of the Year for the 2025-26 season. This was after he led Providence to a 54-16-2 record and 110 points, which had them finish at the top of the AHL regular-season standings.

Providence's regular-season success this past campaign did not translate over to the playoffs, though, as they fell to the Springfield Thunderbirds in the Atlantic Division Semifinals.

With Mougenel reportedly heading to the Canucks, the Bruins will now need to find a replacement for him for their AHL head coaching gig.

Mougenel served as Providence's head coach since the 2021-22 season, where he had a 217-103-40 record. He was also an assistant coach for the AHL club from 2018-19 to 2020-21.
