According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, the Boston Bruins have traded Charlie Coyle and a 2026 fifth-round pick to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Casey Mittelstadt, William Zellers, and a second-round pick.
Coyle, 33, was the subject of trade rumors leading up to the deadline, and now he is officially on the move. It was a tough final year for Coyle in Boston, as he had just 22 points in 64 games. Now, he will look to heat back up with the Avalanche from here.
Mittelstadt, 26, has appeared in 63 games this season, posting 11 goals and 34 points. This was after he had 18 goals and 57 points in 80 games this past season split between the Buffalo Sabres and Avalanche. With this move, the Bruins have brought in a younger center who will provide more skill to their top six.
This story will be updated when more information is released about the trade.
